The standard we build to
This site aims to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. That is the level Ontario’s accessibility rules set for larger organisations, and we build every site to it whether or not the business is one of them, because the alternative is a site some people cannot use.
What that means here
- Every page can be used from the keyboard alone, and the focus outline is always visible.
- The first thing you reach on any page is a link that skips the header and goes straight to the content.
- Text contrast meets the ratios the standard sets, and the two colours that sit closest to the limit are held there deliberately rather than adjusted to taste.
- Images that carry meaning have text alternatives. Images that are decoration are hidden from screen readers rather than described.
- Headings run in order, and the page is marked up with real landmarks so it can be navigated by structure.
- Form fields have labels that stay visible, and errors say which field and what to fix.
- If your system asks for reduced motion, the animation on this site stops. Nothing autoplays with sound.
What we know is not perfect
Being straight about this is more useful than a claim of full conformance.
- Some of the film on this site has no captions, because it carries no speech. Anything with speech in it should have them, and where it does not yet, that is a gap rather than a decision.
- The hero on the homepage is driven by scrolling. It is disabled for reduced motion, but it is still the most demanding thing on the site to use.
- Parts of the site embed things we do not control, including the booking calendar. We pick suppliers with this in mind, but we cannot promise the inside of an embed to the same standard as our own markup.
Tell us
If something here does not work for you, we want to know, and you should not have to explain why it matters. Email hello@launchandfound.co with the page and what happened. We will reply within five business days and tell you what we are doing about it.
If you need something on this site in another format, ask and we will send it.
How we check
We test with a keyboard, at 375 pixels wide and at 200 percent zoom, and we check contrast against the standard rather than by eye. Automated checks catch some of it. The rest is someone going through the page.
